Let’s begin the journey toward financial health

If I was betting man, I would bet that you are in debt or dealt with debt in the past.  But I am not a betting man.  So I am not going to guess your personal finance story.

Financial lack is a major issue

We can all agree on one thing: the lack of financial resources has been a source of stress for many in recent years.  As I talk to people in my community, I notice that many of them are handicapped by financial stress.  And as I read the news, I see that this problem expands way beyond my community.  Millennials are still feelings the pains from 2008-09 stock market crash.  The racial wealth gap is expanding.  And loads student debt are stifling any ounce creativity that we might have had in college.

The Way Forward

But I believe there is a way forward.  Yes, there are external circumstances that are at play that is outside of our control, but there are things we can do to get back on track.

The solution is found in the combination of the following four concepts:

  • increasing level of financial literacy
  • improving financial planning
  • living below one’s means
  • seizing career or entrepreneurial opportunities

Implementing these things consistently can help ease the financial tension and restore the possibility of wealth creation.

So why Wealth Rehab?

Do you remember the time when you didn’t stress about money?  For some, it was high school.  For others, it was way back in elementary school.  Or maybe you always were stressed about money.

For me, it was back in high school.  I remember how it felt to be free of money worries.  Then I went to college and life happened.  It has been 8 years, a wife and two kids later and I am still processing.

Overcoming financial setbacks and getting to optimal financial health is a lifelong journey.  I have been on this journey for a couple years. At the age of 30, I finally feel like I have something to share.  My hope through this blog is to inspire, encourage and challenge you to begin the journey towards financial health.

My hope for us is to not only be in good financial health but to transition from being financially healthy to financially wealthy.

Let’s journey together.
